This notice explains what information ForTheHype collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. ForTheHype is an AI "wingman" service for dating-app users — you put a dedicated phone number in your dating profile, and our AI answers calls from your matches on your behalf.

There are two kinds of people whose information flows through ForTheHype:

• Account holders — the user who signed up for ForTheHype and configured their AI wingman with a bio, interests, and preferences.
• Callers — the matches who call the user's ForTheHype number to learn about the user.

1. What we collect

From account holders

• Account info: first name, age, city, your real phone number (so we can forward you calls if you choose), email, password (stored hashed).
• Profile content: the bio details you give us so the AI can hype you accurately — accomplishments, occupation, interests, what you're looking for, dealbreakers, tone preference. The more you share, the more your AI can do; everything here is optional except the basics needed to operate the line.
• Payment info: handled by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers. We retain Stripe customer/subscription IDs and payment-status flags.
• Usage data: dashboard logins, profile edits, basic device/IP info for security.

From callers (your matches)

• Phone number: captured automatically by Twilio's caller ID, in international (E.164) format. We use it to identify repeat callers, and — if the user enables it — to send confirmations or follow-ups.
• Voice recording & transcript: the call is recorded, transcribed, and summarized so the user has a record of who called and what was said.
• Structured "match signal" data: first name (if shared), Instagram or other social handle (if shared), whether they want to meet, and a brief note on why they'd click — extracted by AI from the conversation so the user can decide whether to follow up.
• Anything else they choose to say during the call.

2. How we use the information

• To operate the AI wingman: the AI reads the user's profile to hype them accurately and to qualify the caller.
• To populate the user's dashboard: calls, transcripts, post-call summaries, and a "Matches" page showing callers who said they wanted to meet.
• To send transactional SMS (if applicable): by giving us your phone number on the call, you consent to receive transactional messages from the user's ForTheHype line. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Standard message and data rates apply.
• To improve service quality: we may review aggregated, de-identified call patterns to improve the AI's prompt. We do not train AI models on your individual conversations, and we do not sell your data.
• For security and abuse prevention: rate limiting, fraud detection, and protecting our infrastructure.
• To comply with law: respond to lawful requests, court orders, or subpoenas.

3. Phone number details — what to know

ForTheHype is a phone-based service, so phone numbers are central to how it works:

• The user's ForTheHype number is a dedicated Twilio number we provision for each account. The user shares this number on their dating profile in place of their real phone. Calls to this number are answered by the AI wingman.
• The user's real phone number stays private unless the user chooses to share it with a specific match.
• The caller's phone number is captured automatically when they call (the same as caller-ID on any phone). We use it to recognise repeat callers and to associate them with the call record in the user's dashboard.
• SMS sender: if we text you, the message comes from a Twilio number — usually the same number you called. Reply STOP on any message to opt out of all further SMS from that number.
• SMS content: only transactional messages — we do not send marketing SMS.
• We do not sell or rent phone numbers to anyone. Caller numbers are visible only to the account holder whose line was called, and to our processors (below) as needed to deliver the service.

4. Service providers we use

We use the following processors to operate ForTheHype. Each handles only the data needed for its role:

Each provider is bound by their own privacy commitments and standard data-processing terms. We don't give access to any provider beyond what's needed for the service.

5. Data retention

• Profile content (bio, etc.): kept while your account is active; you can edit or delete it from the dashboard at any time.
• Call recordings + transcripts: kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete any specific call at any time.
• Match records: kept while your account is active.
• Caller phone numbers: kept for as long as associated calls are retained.
• Payment data: kept by Stripe under their retention policies; we keep only billing IDs and status flags.
• Account closure: when you cancel your account, we keep operational data for up to 90 days for billing reconciliation, then delete it (or anonymize it for aggregate metrics).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information
• Object to or restrict certain uses
• Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
• Opt out of SMS by replying STOP

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards: TLS for all data in transit, encrypted storage at our database provider, hashed passwords (bcrypt), least-privilege access for our team, and audit logs for sensitive operations. No system is perfectly secure, so if you suspect an issue, please write to security@forthehype.com.

8. Age

ForTheHype is for adults only — you must be at least 18 to use the service. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has used the service, contact us and we'll delete the data.

9. International users

ForTheHype is operated from the United States and our service providers are primarily US-based. If you use ForTheHype from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated in the dashboard and/or by email to active accounts.

This policy is provided in good faith. It does not create a contract or legal obligations beyond those imposed by applicable privacy law. Where any provision conflicts with mandatory law, that law controls.
